Before he left the press conference, Mamady Doumbouya and his armed guards had to pay tribute to the spirit of the late Ghanaian President Jerry John Rollins.
In a video shared by socialite and journalist Howard French, Guinea's coup leader Mamadi Dumbuya revealed his source of inspiration for ousting President Alpha Comte.
In a video, Mamady Doumbouya continues to recall the spirit of the late Jerry John Rawlings as a concept and encouragement.
"If the people are suppressed by their elites, the army will restore their freedom. If things go well, the army will not take over." Mamady Doumbouya quoted Jerry John's original words from Rollins in 1979.
In 1979, Jerry John Rollins launched a similar coup in Ghana. His spirit lasts forever because it keeps stimulating Mamady Doumbouya and his army to fight for Guinea.
